This time I tried again using digital mapping tools. There are many paths zig-zagging across this mountain and even using several apps, I still struggled to find the proper route. Weather moved in, and daylight faded. Steep terrain and ball-bearing like slippery scree rock made progression treacherous. Again I failed to reach my goal, the summit of Blodgett Peak.
I realized what I really need is a guide, someone to accompany me who knows the way, who has climbed this mountain before, perhaps many times — someone who can not only lead me but also encourage me.
We need this kind of mentoring or coaching example in all of life. Paul says, “Be imitators of me, just as I also am of Christ.” (1 Corinthians 11:1 NASB) Do life like I am doing life! Could you invite others to mimic aspects of your life? With intentionality, invite others to do so. You know something others do not know. (Titus 2:3-5) Are there areas of functioning where you need more hands-on guiding? Seek out mentors, asking your Guide to send you a guide.
And before long, you’ll be leading others to the summit.
